Oh, Kiss Me; Lick Your Cigarette, Then Kiss Me

4:08 PM

I've been obsessed with fashion blogger and Are You Am I director, Rumi Neely, ever since I was just a wee freshman in high school. Consequently, when I saw this Are You Am I look-a-like sweater at Bloomingdales, I had to grab it. (Sorry, Rumi. I promise that when I have a decent job to buy the real deal from you.) I just love the large grommets on the side and the chunky lace-up on this sweater.
I partnered up my over-sized sweater with a fuzzy miniskirt with front zippers, sheer ripped tights, and my favorite flats for an easy black and white look. These flats are a few seasons old from The Kooples, but the style is a classic now from them and are just so comfortable. Not pictured are a few fun accessories - a Ted Baker leather bracelet and my favorite Alexander Wang Rockie.

Get Someone You Love; Get Someone You Need

6:29 PM

It's been years since I've worn anything pink, especially pastel pink. Once I saw this Maje jacket on sale though, I just had to get it. For one thing, it ties in with my obsession with bomber jackets. Second of all, I love just about anything Maje makes. It's their girly and luxurious accents that really set their clothes apart.
I paired my new jacket with muted colors - navy, forest green, and black - so that the jacket had its chance to be the focus of attention.  I typically keep my outfit all black if I want the attention to go to one specific item, but I felt like the plaid skirt's muted colors made it discreet enough to wear but the plaid pattern still added some interest.

Be Impressive

8:06 PM

If you know me, then you know all about my undying love for all that shines, especially mini-skirts. And if you add a bit of a baroque pattern to the shiny skirt, then I love it even more. I love letting my skirt do the talking as it's an easy way to look dressed up without going all out.
I was going to wear this outfit to KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas, but then I realized that there was no way I was going to stand in heeled boots for the five plus hours the concert lasted for. Although the shoes aren't too practical, I find the rest of the look works for tons of occasions whether casual or dressed up.  I think it's the chunkiness and the casual felted look of my varsity jacket that helps dress it down.

Here's my selection of shiny stuff to get you through the holidays and for pretty much whenever because let's get real, who doesn't want something a little bit shiny in their wardrobe? The nice thing about this selection is that it's got a wide range of styles for those who want something more daring, more fun, or more discreet.

Hello

9:29 PM

When people think about fashion, oftentimes they get intimidated. And to be honest, fashion can be intimidating when you see names like Proenza Schouler and Herve Leger scrawled throughout fashion magazines. It can be nerve wracking walking into an Yves Saint Laurent store when there are half a dozen sales associates staring you down and only one of you.
I want fashion to be a safe forum for everyone because after all, that’s what fashion is really about. It’s about what makes you feel good and about celebrating everyone’s beauty. It’s not just something for an elite group of kale-eating, Soulcycling women.
More than that, I want to share with you what I’ve learned about fashion throughout the years and what’s worked for me. As a petite, Asian female, it can be hard finding real fashion advice that works. I know I can’t be the only one that struggles with finding fashion that works for short girls or beauty trends that work for Asian complexions.
